After a very long and arduous trip we are home and we are ok. Dog still remembers us, cars are still in the garage and we have been traveling for what seems like an eternity. Weather in Seattle is the usual rainy 60 F :'(. Last week I hear it was sunny and in the 100s :p.
Trip may be over but this blog is still very active. I have a ton of content still to post including all the narrative which I will be writing over the coming days.
If you have enjoyed the site thus far, don't give up on it just yet. Keep coming back and reading and seeing what's in store for you :)
Lots of kisses,
A&A
Well before someone says it was my fault let me give a bit of context. It was our last day on the cruise. After 11 wonderful and magical days we had to pack our bags. Something to keep in mind is that on the boat you keep the same people for your entire ship. You have the same servers 3 times a day. You have the same person turning down your bed and fixing your room many times a day, etc etc. You end up building a relationship with these people. They get to know you and you get to know them. As you know our dear Amanda gets attached easily, so saying goodbye to our new found friends was not so easy. We had just come from the farewell "see you real soon" show and she had already cried twice. Hence the gloom of the day... trust me it was a wonderful day... I just happened to capture her in a depressing moment.
Here is the last snippet from the farewell show... when Amanda cried for the first time

Let's start day 18 at the end, talking about the beginning. Huh? That does not make any sense :)

Today should be a fun day; then again we are in France, and we know what I think about these people. Can't wait to tell you about today in full detail. Let's just say we did very little of what the pretty and sexy wife foretold in the morning.
Don't worry though. Even though we did not do what we wanted to do, it was an absolutely amazing and dreamy day when it was all said and done.

It's people not withstanding, this is an amazingly beautiful country. The town of Marseille is gorgeous (modulo people), quaint and enamoring particularly on a Sunday morning. As we walk through the city the city still sleeps (it was Bastille day the night prior), empty bottle of wine on the floor, and all the people going to church. We entered one such church where there was a lovely priest playing organ for all who would listen even though there were no services being given at the moment. We sat, we listened, we absorbed the organ sounds as we looked around and enjoyed this gorgeous church.

And thus we arrive in France. More on the detailed write up... but let's just say yours truly does not like this country because of its <insert french accent>fucking</insert french accent> (pardon my french) people!

First some comments on comments: We love comments! They fuel us to blog more. So please keep them coming. Don't worry about us reading them or finding them if you put a comment on one of the super earlier blogs. We get an aggregated view of all comments as soon as you post them so we will read them all... and will love them all. So please comment early and often :)
Don't know how to comment? It's easy! Just click on the title of a given blog entry and it'll take you to the detailed entry for the blog. At the bottom you will find a form that you can fill out and submit with your comment. Note: sometimes it takes a few minutes for the comment to show up, but trust us it will be registered.
Now to comment on some of the specific comments from the parental units and Rome: comments will be forthcoming. A bit of a preview loved ones. We did find everything we were looking for and moms directions were perfect. The picture of the day in Rome should have two things just for you: 1) bottom left is a picture of our old house focus on my room specifically and 2) the top left picture (with the flower) has the feirinha blurred on the back. We ate some pizza rossa at our place, some gelato in front of our house, waved at Michelle (yep he is still there) and went for a stroll in Villa Schiarra. Villa Schiarra was a disappointment since it has been closed due to a rat infestation so it was not nearly as gorgeous as when we were there. We walked through the Gianicolo, had some coconut and olives at the top (the guy in the little car had a major upgrade). We also went by Santa Doretea but they were closed for summer (obviously).
But I'm getting ahead of myself, commentary will follow in the future. I will give colorful comments for each city in this wonderful trip. Currently I am still stuck in Sevilla (yeah I'm a slacker but I'm vacation right :)), so we are a long way from Rome in my writing, but we'll get there I promise. Something for you to look forward to and a reason to keep checking the website back.
Finally a few special shout outs to folks who have been here often: Mom and Dad! Yay we love your comments. Jen Jen, Louis and Aunt Fifi! Yay we loved your sweet e-mails. Now you just have to leave us some digital graffiti via comments. We also have a special surprise for the four of you in a video blog that is forthcoming (Amanda the tour guide for yesterday which will be posted... well perhaps tomorrow :))
If you are checking the website often and I didn't call out to you... well let us know you are here, we aren't psychics. If you are not here often, we still love you and miss you and hope you enjoy our babbling when you are here.
Kisses to all!
Rome was a long and tiring day for everyone on the ship. So... what better than a full day at sea. A day to relax, recharge and enjoy some sun!
